The short version
The Hoppy Dungeon game contains no advertising, and we do not sell
personal information for money. This website does use optional
advertising trackers: if you allow them, Google Analytics and the
Meta pixel help us understand how people find the game and let us
show Hoppy Dungeon ads to people who have visited this site. That
is off until you choose it, and you can change your mind at any
time. Most iOS game data stays on your device.
Information we handle
iOS app data
Settings, saved equipment, and a pending best score are stored
locally on your device. Hoppy Dungeon does not receive this local
information.
Game Center
If you use Game Center, Apple authenticates your player account and
processes your display name and leaderboard score. Hoppy Dungeon
submits your longest completed run to Apple’s Game Center service.
Apple handles that information under
Apple’s Privacy Policy.
Website waitlist
If you join the iOS waitlist, we collect the email address you
provide so we can confirm your signup and send Hoppy Dungeon launch
news. Joining is optional.
Browser alpha and website operations
The browser alpha may send the player level reached when a run
ends. This event is anonymous and does not include your name, email
address, Game Center account, or an advertising identifier. Our
hosting and security providers may also process standard request
information, such as an IP address, browser type, and request time,
to deliver and protect the site.
Optional website analytics
This website may use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people
find Hoppy Dungeon and how they use the browser alpha. When you
allow this, Google may process general information such as pages
visited, approximate location derived from IP address, device and
browser type, referral source, campaign links, and aggregated
gameplay events such as whether someone started or finished a run.
Google Analytics is configured without Google Signals and without
ad personalisation, so it is used to understand website traffic and
game engagement rather than to build advertising profiles. Google’s
handling of information is described in the
Google Privacy Policy.
Optional advertising and remarketing
This website may also load the Meta pixel, provided by Meta
Platforms, Inc. We use it to measure whether our Facebook and
Instagram ads actually bring people to Hoppy Dungeon, and to build
custom audiences for remarketing—which means people who have
visited this site, or taken an action such as playing the browser
alpha or joining the waitlist, may later be shown Hoppy Dungeon ads
on Facebook, Instagram, and other services in Meta’s network. We
may also ask Meta to build lookalike audiences of people with
similar characteristics.
This is cross-site tracking, and it is worth being clear about what
it means. When the pixel is active, Meta receives your IP address,
the pages you view on this site, your browser and device type, and
the gameplay and signup events described above. Meta can link that
activity to your Facebook or Instagram account if you have one, and
uses it for its own purposes under its own terms. We configure the
pixel so it sends only the events we have chosen, rather than
automatically scraping the buttons and forms you interact with.
Both are optional and off by default. Before you choose Allow,
neither Google Analytics nor the Meta pixel is loaded and no
cookies are set for either purpose. If you choose No thanks, both
stay disabled. You can change your choice at any time with the
Privacy choices control in the site footer. Waitlist email
addresses are never sent to Google or Meta, and we do not send
hashed email addresses or other contact information to Meta for
audience matching.
You can also control this at Meta directly, independently of your
choice here, through your
Meta ad preferences. Meta’s handling of information is described in the
Meta Privacy Policy.
How information is used
- Provide Game Center authentication and the longest-run leaderboard.
- Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website and browser alpha.
- Understand broad game balance, such as the level where runs end.
- Understand optional website traffic and browser-alpha engagement.
- Measure whether our advertising reaches people who play the game.
-
Build custom and lookalike audiences so Hoppy Dungeon ads can be
shown to people who have visited this site.
- Send waitlist confirmation and Hoppy Dungeon launch news.
- Respond when you contact support or send accessibility feedback.
Sharing and third parties
We do not sell or rent personal information for money. Information
may be processed by service providers only where needed to operate
Hoppy Dungeon—for example, Apple for Game Center and infrastructure
providers that host the website, store waitlist addresses, or
deliver email. We may also disclose information if required by law
or necessary to protect users and the service.
If you allow advertising, browsing information is shared with Meta
as described above. Under some United States state privacy laws,
including the California Consumer Privacy Act, using a pixel for
cross-context behavioural advertising counts as “sharing” or a
“sale” of personal information even though no money changes hands.
Declining at the consent banner, or choosing No thanks later
through the Privacy choices control in the site footer, opts you
out of that sharing. We also honour Global Privacy Control: if your
browser sends a GPC signal, analytics and advertising stay off
without you having to do anything, and the consent banner is not
shown. You can still turn them on deliberately through the
Privacy choices control if you want to.
Retention and your choices
Waitlist email addresses are kept until you ask us to remove them
or the waitlist is no longer needed. Anonymous operational and game
balance information is kept only as long as reasonably useful for
operating and improving Hoppy Dungeon. Information held by Google
and Meta is retained under their own policies and controlled
through their own settings; withdrawing consent here stops further
collection but does not by itself delete what they already hold. Local iOS data can be
removed by deleting the app. Game Center information can be managed
through your Apple Account and Game Center settings.
To leave the waitlist, request deletion, or ask a privacy question,
email
hello@hoppydungeon.com from the address you used. We may need to verify your request.
Children’s privacy
Hoppy Dungeon does not knowingly request personal information from
children. If you believe a child has submitted an email address to
the waitlist, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes and contact
This policy may be updated as Hoppy Dungeon changes. The effective
date above will be revised when material changes are published.
Questions can be sent to
hello@hoppydungeon.com.
iOS accessibility
-
VoiceOver: Major screens, controls, character
statistics, shop offers, level-up choices, status information,
and game-over actions include descriptive labels and hints.
-
Accessible dungeon movement: The 3D runway has a
screen-reader representation with left, centre, and right move
buttons that describe the next row and its monster, pickup, trap,
merchant, or empty tile.
-
Class selection: The class carousel supports
adjustable VoiceOver actions and named previous and next actions.
-
Text sizing: Interface text uses Dynamic
Type-aware styles. Some dense HUD and shop layouts may remain
compact at the largest accessibility sizes.
-
Reduced motion: The app follows the iOS Reduce
Motion setting for menus, overlays, class selection, HUD changes,
and shop presentation. Some essential 3D dungeon movement and
combat presentation remains animated.
-
Audio and haptics: Music, ambient sound, and
effects have separate mute and volume controls. Haptic feedback
can be disabled.
-
Visual presentation: The app uses a consistent
dark interface and pairs important colours with text, icons, or
spoken labels where practical.
Website and browser alpha
The marketing pages use semantic headings and landmarks, image text
alternatives, visible keyboard focus, keyboard-operable controls,
responsive text, and reduced animation when your device requests
reduced motion.
The browser alpha is an evolving preview. Its 3D canvas does not yet
provide the same complete screen-reader movement interface as the
iOS app.
Known limitations
- Very large text may truncate in some dense game layouts.
- Reduce Motion does not yet remove every 3D gameplay animation.
- Live combat changes may not always be announced automatically.
- Apple controls the accessibility of the Game Center interface.
Accessibility feedback
If something prevents you from playing or using this site, email
hello@hoppydungeon.com. If possible, include your device, operating-system version, the
assistive technology you use, and where the problem occurred.
Game Center and leaderboard
- Open iPhone Settings, choose Game Center, and confirm you are signed in.
- Check that the device has an internet connection.
- Complete a run before checking the Longest Run leaderboard.
- If a score is pending, Hoppy Dungeon retries after Game Center reconnects.
Audio, motion, and haptics
Open Options from the class-selection screen or in-game HUD to
adjust music, ambient sound, sound effects, and haptic feedback.
Hoppy Dungeon also follows the system Reduce Motion setting in
Settings → Accessibility → Motion.
If the app stops responding
Close and reopen Hoppy Dungeon, then restart the iPhone if the issue
continues. Before reinstalling, be aware that deleting the app also
removes locally stored settings and saved equipment.
